Five selected finalists will present their dreams/aspirations on May 14, 2022 at The Dream Tank Competition in Palm Beach.
Each finalist will receive an award of $1,000. The winner will receive a $5,000 award.
All contestants have completed Leadership Training prior to entering.
Former foster youth who successfully complete the Dale Carnegie Training are eligible to apply to participate in Selfless Love’s Dream Tank. Five youth are selected to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Over the course of nine months, the Dream Tank finalists will participate in sessions on speech writing and presentation, professional etiquette, business tips from top leaders, and investment basics. They will be introduced to professional connections in their field of interest and gain valuable knowledge and skills as they prepare to reveal their dream at Dream Tank Competition held each spring the night before SLF’s Gala in Palm Beach, Florida. On top of this incredible experience, all finalists will receive a $1,000 award and the winner receives a $5,000 award.
The Dream Tank illustrated the incredible amount of support I have pushing me to reach my goals. I learned the value of being vulnerable despite its difficulty and the importance of building social capital around people who share similar passions.
My favorite part of the Dream Tank was touching lives in ways I don’t even know yet, building solid forever relationships, and gaining knowledge that will be effective for a lifetime.
The one thing I liked the most about the Dream Tank was being given the opportunity to share my dream with those eager to listen.
The Dream Tank taught me that whenever you surround yourself with pureness, care, honesty and selfless love, that even the toughest battles can become the easiest ones.
I felt like I was important and that what I wanted to do with my life was important. Not only did the judges think my 5-year plan was deserving of praise but also of a monetary prize that would, in the end, help me pursue my dream.
Thank you for The Pulte Family Foundation for supporting our Dale Carnegie Leadership Training and Dream Tank Competition.
Youth transitioning out of the foster care system need all the same things that other youth need but without family to support them they have a steeper climb to self-sufficiency. Follow the Love (FTL) is a relational permanency initiative focused on ensuring that ALL youth who age out of the system have a formalized connection with a supportive adult to help them transition to adulthood. In 2022, the FTL collaborative initiative is being launched as a pilot in Florida with six agencies.
when we were asked if we would be interested in meeting twin boys. The rest is history.
In less than one month of registering on Family-Match, we were matched with two siblings and adopted them in less than three months. I hope our story gives hope to other families not to give up on your dream of adopting.
We were waiting for the child that was supposed to come to our family. All 3 of our children are exactly where they’re supposed to be.
We waited over one year the first time, but with our second child we registered on Family-Match and in less than two months we were matched. I know it was because we were able to create a profile on Family-Match which allowed us to share videos, photos, and paint a story of our family for case workers over the entire state of Florida to have access to.
Adoption transformed their lives, and ours. We are truly a family because of Selfless Love Foundation.
